Over the last few years, we have experienced continuous growth at the vineyard and as we and our following have grown we felt it was important to reflect on our visual identity, especially as we have some exciting plans in the works for 2019.
When we started looking into our visuals it quickly became apparent that we already had our answer, the tendril. When we originally created our branding 3 years ago everything always boiled back to the simple tendril mark, but back then we decided just to use the tendril mark on our wine labels, and stick with our AV logo.
Tendrils protect and nurture the vines as they grow, they support them by gripping on to what’s around them. In our vineyard, they tie the vines to our trellis system, this gives them strength and helps to protect them from the elements. At Alder, we are very much a vine first vineyard, our passion and everything we do always stem from the vines themselves and we work by hand, year-round to protect, nurture and support our vines. It’s our passion and way of working that leads us to connect ourselves with the role of the tendril, and we are now ready to take the leap forward and embrace the tendril as our identity not just as a visual on our bottles.
Over the next few months, you’ll start to see our new identity come to life more and more. We are very excited to share with you our new bottles, as they are looking rather special! But you will have to wait until vintage 2018 is fully crafted and ready for your taste buds!
